Drop in and Advice
We provide drop-in advice services at both City Centre Project and Signpost (see left for details and opening hours). This is often the first port of call for young people - attending the drop in enables us to offer advice and support, and set up appointments, if required, for a more specialist service.
In the mornings at City Centre Project, young people can access a hot breakfast, showers and laundry services.
At both sites, skilled advice workers advise and support the young people with access to emergency and temporary accommodation, advice on welfare benefits, housing, and on a whole range of personal and welfare issues.
Working holistically is important, as dealing with homelessness is about more than just a roof. It is quite often the case that a young person starts off with just calling in for some advice and from that point we can help them to identify their longer term needs and to access the services to take them forward on their journey towards adulthood and successful independent living.
