Supporting Homeless Young People Towards Independent Living
The Young People’s Support Foundation (YPSF) is a Manchester based charity working with young people aged between 16 – 25 who need support with their personal growth and development towards adulthood and independent living. We specialise in providing support services for 16 – 25 years who are homeless, or at risk of becoming homeless. We consider people homeless if they are living on the streets, squatting, living in a hostel or bed & breakfast accommodation, or staying temporarily with family or friends. Young people may be at risk of becoming homeless for lots of different reasons such as; family breakdown, domestic violence, debt, mental illness, drug or alcohol dependency or bereavement. Whatever the reasons, young people come and talk to us; we support them to get the help they need.

Our Mission...
...is to enable young people to make informed decisions about their lives and work alongside them to facilitate change and support them towards independent living.
We work in ways that respect and empower young people and we encourage them to participate in all aspects of the project.
We aim to reduce poverty, social exclusion and homelessness and to make a lasting improvement to the quality of life of our service users.
YPSF supports people with a range of needs (often multiple), including mental health, drug and/or alcohol dependency, rough sleeper lifestyle, ill health, disability, offending history and poor life-skills. |
